Progressive Caribbean Stud Poker – Complete Introduction
Caribbean Stud Poker is actually a 5-card poker game where you play against the dealer, not against other players. It's without the psychological pressure of regular poker, so it's much easier to start. Progressive Caribbean at ccc222 means a growing jackpot has been added to this game that increases with every bet.
The game starts with an Ante bet. Then both you and the dealer receive 5 cards each. One of the dealer's cards is face-up, the other four face-down. After seeing your cards, you decide – Call (place a bet double the Ante) or Fold (lose the Ante).
The progressive side bet is a separate wager outside the main game. At ccc222, just BDT 50 puts you in the race for the jackpot. Hit a Royal Flush and the entire pool is yours – it can reach crores.
Dealer qualification rule
A special rule in Caribbean Stud Poker is that the dealer must "Qualify." If the dealer doesn't hold A-K or better, the dealer doesn't qualify. In that case, your Call bet is returned and you get 1:1 payout on your Ante.
If the dealer qualifies and your hand beats the dealer's, you win 1:1 on the Ante and a payout on the Call based on your hand rank. If the dealer's hand is stronger, you lose both bets.
At ccc222, even if the dealer doesn't Qualify in Caribbean Stud, your side bet jackpot payout still applies – these two are completely separate.
How does the Progressive Jackpot grow?
At ccc222's Progressive Caribbean tables, a fixed portion of each side bet goes into the jackpot pool. Say BDT 5 from every BDT 50 side bet feeds the jackpot. The more people play, the faster it climbs.
When someone hits a Royal Flush and wins the jackpot, the pool resets to a fixed seed amount (e.g. BDT 50,000) and starts climbing again. At ccc222, a single jackpot is shared across all tables on the network, so it can grow very fast.
When to Call, when to Fold?
This is the most important question in Caribbean Stud. The mathematically proven best strategy is – if you hold A-K-J or better, Call. Anything less, Fold.
To be more specific: if you hold A-K and at least one of your other three cards matches the dealer's upcard, calling is profitable. This strategy reduces the house edge in the long run.
Always Call with A-K-Q or A-K-J. With A-K-10 or lower, check the dealer's face-up card. If the dealer's card matches any card in your hand, Call anyway. Following basic strategy pushes RTP up to 97.3%.
